Chapter one
Selena and Arget, rider and dragon who fought for Alagesias freedom against Galbatorix, they dissapeared after the last battle not to be seen for a few years, then Vroengard was restored. A raven tressed maiden, with a scar down her face was said to be there with a strange silver beast...that beast was a dragon. The time of the riders was t come once more and they had begun the lenthy proccess.
The dim sun was low in the morning sky, the clouds were gathering in. The green grass danced with the gentle spring breeze. Under the shade of a oak tree, green and healthy, a raven tressed maiden sat, a faint blow seemed to be omitted from her ivory hued face. Arget...I pray where are you? The maiden mused to herself, she felt lonely. A white scar, rather painful looking ran down her left cheek, she could have healed it but she left it there as a reminder of her youth, her history. Her ruby lips curled in a faint smile, at the thought of her youth, her family. her friends. One who had been lost during that great battle. It was my fault...if I had got there in time he would still be alive...she often brooded apon that thought.
A gasp, came from nowhere it seemed, from a dark haired, stout man a boat, tied to a boulder not far from her spot. He had arrived here for a rest, this place was empty, in ruins...yet not it wasn't. He looked at the maiden with disbelief, she was not youth yet she was not old, she seemed to be perhaps 17 but her eyes seemed wiser and older. A scar ran down her left cheek, he let out another gasp.
The maiden sat still, a weary sigh was omitted from her lips, as she spotted the dark haired man. She raked through her mind to find any words that might help her to make him forget seeing her. Her tresses were free around her shoulders,in voluptous curls that bounced about in the wind. She stood up and tossed her hair from her face. Her peaceful days were over she would have to enter the real world she thought.
A silver scaled skullblaka glided down from the blue heavens it seemed to one on the ground. His large, muscular body, battle scarred. His scales were shining brightly. As his blue opticals took in the scene below him. He snorted as he made contact with the ground, his claws dragged down into the green foilage..woops he thought. Selena...who is this..he enquired already knowing the answer.
The maiden sighed...you know I do not know...why do you ask dear friend of my heart? It is time, dear one to reveal ourselfs back from our dream land...that we have been in for so long. She opened her mind and touched the man's mind...he meant no harm. She smiled gently and looked at the dark haired man who appeared to be a fisherman. .Sir, I pray do not reveal us yet, but spread the word that the day of the riders is to be once more
The ebony haired man, stood with a shocked, surprised expression apon his gormless face. The riders once more, he remembered the battles, and the legends of riders but he personally had never saw it. M'lady, did you fight in the last battle? His eyes looked down , at her she did'nt seem old enough to have fought and lived at a battle of that scale.
The maiden sighed and looked down, a single tear ran down her ivory cheek. Sir, that day has passed and I still mourn for the friends I lost. The tear passed down the scar apon her cheek, she paid no notice to it no longer caring. She remembered the dream she had had so often now, a dark haired girl, touching an silvery emerald stone...no it was an egg..she grasped the dream and thought..could this be true? Yes....is is a true. The area was familiar, like a dream from long ago. Arget do you remember that place...she said out loud almost trance like, ignoring the man who stood.
The man bowed hastily and fled, not looking back. His hair was flying in all directions out of fear and wonder. He didn't ever keep his word about not telling about the maiden he told everyone he met. That made people go to the island to try and spot the maiden and the beast....but Selena and Arget had left to go on a journey.
